Aghuno kombiniert in seiner Mode traditionelle nigerianische Handwerkskunst wie das Handfärben und Weben mit modernen, skulpturalen Silhouetten und einer klaren Ausrichtung auf Slow Fashion. Die Marke arbeitet eng mit nigerianischen Kunsthandwerkerinnen zusammen und widmete ihre SS27-Kollektion – benannt nach dem nigerianischen Pidgin-Begriff für X-Beine – der radikalen Infragestellung von Schönheitsidealen und der Feier von Body Positivity und menschlicher Unvollkommenheit. / The contemporary Nigerian fashion brand Fruché, founded in Lagos by designer Frank Aghuno, made its highly anticipated debut at the Berlin Fashion Week SS27 with the collection "KLEG". Aghuno blends traditional Nigerian heritage and artisanal techniques, including hand-dyeing and weaving by women's communities, with modern, sculptural silhouettes and a strong commitment to conscious slow fashion. The brand's SS27 collection—named after the Nigerian Pidgin term for knock knees—reclaims perceived physical flaws to challenge conventional beauty standards, transforming fashion into a celebration of body positivity, cultural identity, and human imperfection.
